Mahmehr Hamza
Mahmehr is Research Assistant on the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship (BII+E) team. She will be focussing her work on the assessment of wage disparity amongst U.S. and Canadian tech workers, and how digitization is changing the job landscape across Canada.
Prior to joining BII+E, she has worked in the financial services sector before deciding to move into economic policy where she believes the real change-making initiatives happen. Mahmehr is a new immigrant from Pakistan and working at the Brookfield Institute is her first professional role in Canada.
Mahmehr holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from Duke University and is presently a CFA candidate. Her passion lies in learning new disciplines and volunteer work, which she has done back home in Pakistan for many years. Her volunteer work consists of raising funds and drafting request for proposal (RFP) grants for local hospitals to provide medical help to the underprivileged, with a special focus on maternal care to young mothers.
