About the program:

BII+E offers summer internships that support our fast-paced and exciting research agenda, and engagement of diverse audiences.

These roles contribute to the Institute’s efforts to build a robust, data-driven picture of innovation and entrepreneurship trends in Canada, and inform thoughtful public policies that enable Canadians – from different regions, sectors and backgrounds – to seize the opportunities and prepare for the risks in the shift to an innovation-driven economy. Descriptions of specific roles will be added in the fall.

Who do we look for?

BII+E interns are curious, driven, collaborative and looking to grow. They are self-starters who also like working on teams. And they are motivated to contribute to shaping innovation policy that works for all Canadians.

Application process:

  1. Resume + Cover Letter submission (January 2020)
  2. Phone Interview
  3. In-Person Interview with 48 hour assignment + References
  4. Offer (February/March 2020)

Application Tips:

  1. Make note of the deadline! Anything submitted past the deadline will not be accepted.
  2. Customize your cover letter. We want to get to know you better and would like to have your passion for BII+E to shine through.
  3. Be yourself. We want to make sure it’s a good fit for you and us!
  4. If you’re applying for the communications intern position, make sure you include your portfolio.

Q+A:

Q: Will I be paid?

A: Yes, this is a paid internship.

 

Q: What will I learn?

A: You will be assigned to 1-2 projects during the summer. Within the project, you will be supporting qualitative and/or qualitative research, helping prepare proposals and presentations, organizing data, and supporting different members of the policy and projects teams.

 

Q: Do I need to include a portfolio?

A: Yes, if you are applying for the communications internship a portfolio is required.
