About the Playbook
This second edition of the Job Pathways Playbook presents an update on our 2019 approach to identifying job transition pathways for mid-career workers. The Playbook incorporates a revised framework and new methods, reflecting new lessons and insights gained from our 2021 project in Ontario’s food retail sector, Pathways Forward: Mapping Job Transitions for Ontario Food Workers.
Our aim in updating this Playbook is to share this promising approach with others who could use it to inform the design of data-driven, human-centered policies and programs. Users might include:
- Policymakers, including those working on workforce policy and economic development
- Job developers and service providers
- Employers, including both those seeking new sources of talent or those anticipating workforce disruption
- Anyone interested in using labour market information to meet the challenge of supporting peoples’ work transitions into sustainable, resilient employment
