We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship’s Policy Innovation Platform and the Ontario Public Service’s Policy Innovation Hub. This partnership builds on two years of pilot work designed to test the application of new tools and methodologies in the policy development process. During the pilot, the Policy Innovation Platform led or supported initiatives with five ministries and agencies, engaging over 500 Ontarians to tackle issues including:
- How can we accelerate the dialogue on accessibility to shift attitudes and change behaviours? (with the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario)
- What challenges do people face in making low-carbon choices? How might we empower people to instinctively reduce their carbon footprints? (with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change)
- How might the Ontario government attract individuals with digital skills to the Ontario Public Service? (with the Digital Government team)
Our partnership builds on the Policy Innovation Hub’s mandate to connect and collaborate with partners inside and outside of government to drive policy innovation to help the Ontario Public Service better address policy challenges, and the Policy Innovation Platform’s mandate of helping the public sector use innovative policy development methods and tools that lead to better outcomes for all Canadians.
